LAYOVER

If you could meet your favorite celebrity and get to know them on a personal level, would you? A chance meeting gave this fan the ultimate fantasy played out in real life one very special night during a layover at a snowbound airport. What happened from that encounter was not what either the fan or the celebrity expected or imagined. Perhaps it was destiny they meet and touch each other’s lives, both with something to offer the other. Fate has a way of mixing things up sometimes when you least expect it.

I enjoyud this story.  It definitely held my interest throughout. It was easy to feel the passion between Mandy and Jake. The intrigue and mystery of their night together leaves one wondering. The ending was really lovely. Kathryn's writing is excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed this story.

Wow, I just finished reading this romantic short story about Mandy and Jake. This is every woman's dream... to spend the night with her favorite (and handsome) movie star. The story is very believable with lots of good conversation between the two characters. Even though they are both married, I liked the way they "justified" spending the night together. Since I live in Colorado, I also liked the fact that the layover was in Denver, where we do get snowstorms that close the airport. This story is a fun read - with a sexy undercurrent!

This is a fun, fast read but if you have more than an hour between flights, you’ll need another. Especially since this is heavy on dialogue and light on sexy details. Still, if you’ve even fantasized about running into your favorite celebrity on a flight or in an airport bar, this is definitely worth a read.

LONERS

Being a loner was a way Zak protected himself. He had chosen this life by necessity. Zak didn’t believe in miracles. He didn’t even believe in luck, just himself, his Bowie knife and a revolver. He trusted no one, so no one disappointed him or let him down. He moved quickly, stealthy like a cat, blending in and hiding from those who were tracking him and trying to do him harm. He kept his emotions bottled up inside; his heart cold. He rode the wind and touched the sky. Then Zak met another one like him – Elly. Unexpectedly, the two wanted to be loners together.

I enjoyed this short story. Although the plot is a common one- (boy meets girl; they fall in love and fade away together into the sunset), the writing is very well done with descriptions of people and places which were easy to visualize.  I was intrigued and anxious to know the outcome.

Kathryn Cable's short story, Loners, left me wanting more! The suspense of the story and the sparks between two loners held my attention right up to the end. It was both a fun read and an interesting one. Hope to see more stories from this new author.
